When is the best time to seek family coaching?

There isn’t one “right” time. Families reach out at many different points — and all of them are valid.

Some families seek coaching:

  • Right after a new diagnosis, when everything feels overwhelming
  • During a transition (school changes, adolescence, new routines, or big life shifts)
  • When day-to-day life feels harder than it use to be
  • When everyone is trying their best but things still feel tense or chaotic
  • When parents are feeling spread thin or burned out

Others come simply because they want tools, clarity, or a calmer rhythm at home.

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from coaching. If something feels heavy, confusing, or unsustainable, that’s reason enough to reach out.

How does pricing work?

My rates reflect more than the time we spend together in session. Each visit represents approximately 2–2.5 hours of thoughtful, professional work — including preparation, in-home coaching, custom materials tailored to your family, travel time, and follow-up support to help new strategies truly take root.

Families aren’t paying for just a session. Coaching is an investment in personalized, ongoing support designed to create steadier days, stronger connection, and meaningful, lasting growth.

What’s included in a session?

Each session includes:

  • Preparation and review of your family’s goals and progress
  • In-home or virtual coaching
  • Hands-on, real-time problem solving in your actual home environment
  • Custom tools and strategies designed specifically for you and your family
  • Follow-up planning to support carryover between sessions
Why do you work in the home?

Home is where routines, regulation, and relationships actually live. In-home coaching allows me to help families implement strategies where they’ll be used — rather than asking parents to translate ideas later during stressful moments.

Do you work with other support providers (therapists, speech, OT)?

Yes. I’m happy to collaborate with the professionals already supporting your family when it’s helpful and aligned. I can help translate recommendations into everyday routines, reinforce strategies at home, and support consistency across settings.

Some families come to coaching alongside therapy, while others work with me independently. Either way, my role is to support your family in a way that feels coordinated, respectful, and manageable — without adding more to your plate.

Do you collaborate with teachers and schools?

Yes — when it’s helpful and with your permission, I’m happy to collaborate with teachers and school teams. My goal is not to add more meetings or create extra work but to help create consistency between school and home.

I can help translate classroom feedback into practical home strategies, support families in organizing communication, and reinforce skills that benefit your child across settings. I deeply respect educators and see my role as strengthening the bridge between school expectations and home life — in a way that feels manageable for your family.

Do you offer packages or ongoing support?

Yes. Many families choose session series or weekly support to create consistency, build momentum, and reduce overwhelm. Working together over time allows us to practice new skills, refine systems, and create rhythms that truly stick. Packages also provide greater continuity and value than one-off sessions, while offering steady support as your family grows.

What if we’re not sure this is the right fit yet?

That’s completely okay. I offer free, no-pressure consultations so families can ask questions, share concerns, and decide what level of support feels right — now or later.

Do you accept insurance?

Function and Flourish Family Coaching is a private-pay service and does not bill insurance. However, I can provide documentation for reimbursement, grants, or alternative funding sources when applicable. HSA funds and CareCredit are also accepted.

What if this feels financially hard right now?

I understand. Many of the families I support are already carrying significant emotional, logistical, and financial weight. Needing support and needing to be mindful of your budget can both be true at the same time.

I offer flexible options — including packages, spacing sessions out, or focusing on a specific goal — so families can receive meaningful support without feeling stretched beyond what feels manageable. Free consultations are also a space to talk openly about what you need and what’s realistic for your family right now.

How do I get in touch with you?

I can be reached here, or you can schedule a free consult.

There is no pressure to move forward before you’re ready. I believe support should feel steady and empowering, not stressful.
